As a pediatrician, I frequently counsel patients of all ages about nutrition and exercise. While I am passionate about the topic of healthy living, I realize the need to be simple and concise in my initial advice. Over the years I have come up with my 5 easy rules for eating healthy. These guidelines are appropriate for all people starting with school-aged children to adults. Most importantly, I stress these are healthy eating guidelines for people of all shapes and sizes. Overweight people tend to lose weight following the rules while underweight, 'dieting' teens and young adults tend to be less restrictive and learn how to eat more intuitively. In other words, the combination of eating healthy and exercising inevitably leads over time to a weight that is healthy for that individual person.
Walk everyday for at least 20-30 Minutes and perform in a natural Healthy living advice environment is best. (Parks, fields, Gardens, Beach, etc) Please note the walk does not have to be a fast pace, for many people a leisurely stroll is exactly what the doctor ordered. Avoid the hyped up American and/or Western view that exercise should be intense and aimed at 'losing weight' 'burning calories' or 'building muscle' - while these exercise modalities are important they are NOT recommended if you are stressed out.

Though creating a craft or art project will not necessarily work you into shape, a creative, crafty spring project is a fun way to work out a positive mindset and to generate an overall feeling Useful healthy habits of healthy wellness. Building a birdhouse, painting a picture for your guestroom and setting out a porch swing are all fun, do-it-yourself projects that will simply beautify your healthy life! Fun, creative projects like these connect relaxing spring activities to a sense of productivity, rewarding you with the feeling of accomplishment and improving your mental health.
The modern day staples of our diet make up almost every meal that we eat. Sandwiches for lunch and pasta dishes for dinner. What people do not mentions is that wheat (Bread, Pasta and many other foods) is perhaps the most common food sensitivity today. This means every time you are eating your bread or pasta (including whole grain, organic etc) your body is fighting the very food you are think is healthy. The result of this is usually bloating and fat gain. Most physicians will recommend a well-rounded multivitamin each day for healthy adults. Women should consider also taking an additional calcium supplement to help protect their bones. Both genders can benefit from taking fish oil supplements or adding a few serving of fatty fish to their diets each week as well.
Any eating plan that suggests losing many pounds for very short time, any diets proposing drastically calorie intake reduction may in fact do you more harm than good. Apart from risking your health, following such diets is very difficult. Hunger and sudden restriction from all the foods you like will make it almost unbearable and soon you will quit. If you are not comfortable in joining the health buffs inside a gym, try to find yourself an exercise path that can help you to be motivated. Invite friends and family to join you with your regular exercise. Avoid boredom and be active. If you want simple exercise, make an effort to play any sport that you are interested in like tennis, basketball, badminton or cricket. Or if you want, do some walking inside your suburb every morning.
